MELAR S.A. founded in 1924 as a family business, dedicated to production honey
from our own fields located in western side province in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We began
exporting honey to European countries in 1936, covering a big part of market abroad.
In constant growth, the company started to take part of other market groups by the year 1965,
reaching a large market share with big supermarket chains, owning more than twenty-five brands
and a vast variety of products.
With extraordinary success in the local market, MELAR S.A. started exporting products in the 1990,
selling honey along Europe and Asia with the brand “The old Cossack.”
Involving ourselves with the international trade, we started importing spices and condiments
that now contribute to over 50% of the products sold by our company, with special products which
are very difficult to obtain in our country.
Over time we have been able to obtain more products from all over the world, such as China, Indonesia,
India, Netherlands, Spain, Sry Lanka, Turkey, Greece, France, USA, Canada, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Mexico,
Guatemala, Brazil and Ecuador.
In this day and age, Melar’s family structure continues growing and settle well on the import market,
offering our customers the widest variety of spices and condiments with the best market price.
